Credit Union Robber Arrested

Armed Crime Task Force detectives have arrested and charged a 46-year-old man following an armed robbery at a Shepparton Credit Union earlier this week. Investigators, with the assistance of the Special Operations Group, arrested the man on Wednesday night at a residential address on the Great Alpine Rd in Bruthen, about 20km north of Bairnsdale. William Neville Mansfield was charged with one count of armed robbery, aggravated burglary, theft, common law assault and prohibited person possess unregistered firearm in relation to the armed robbery of the Goulburn Murray Credit Union in Fryer Street Shepparton on Monday. He appeared before a bail justice in an out of sessions hearing and was remanded in custody to reappear before the La Trobe Magistrates Court .
